Jose Garcia Villa’s Footnote to Youth: Education Towards Brighter Future

Jose Garcia Villa’s Footnote to Youth is a short story all about early marriage and education to us as youth of this society. Also for the future and present parents. Jose wanted to teach the young societies in way of writing this short story entitled “Footnote to Youth”, he wrote this short story to warn the youngster society that early marriage is very tough responsibility.

       On the Footnote to Youth story, there’s a young man named Dodong live in a poor village/society and a son of a farmer only; and at the age of seventeen he wanted to marry the girl named Teang. In their village they can’t afford schooling or education during the American period here in country. 

Early marriage of Dodong and Teang was very toughly after they had a children, a TEN children. That because they are both haven’t a stable job in their village/society. Dodong has no knowledge about other better jobs because they are poor and didn’t think before for he’s future after he married at the age seventeen.

Because of his lack of education for the poor people before, Dodong and Teang was not able to give a proper and better education for their childs. So that the older son of Dodong said he wanted to marry at the age of eighteen. But Dodong can’t refused his son wants. Because Dodong did it before and he regret all mistakes he does it before.

So that, a young man we need to be patient of what we gonna and wanna want to do. Think first if it is a good or a bad decision to be able for us a successful in our future life. Jose wanted to spread the idea that early marriage in not the key of a happy family and education is the key.

Jose Rizal’s My Last Farewell: Unconditional Love For Country

Jose Rizal’s “My Last Farewell” is a poem about his love for the country and our countrymen, especially to his family, friends and love ones. As he wanted to honor his homeland, the pre-hispanic Philippines. For which he was giving his life, he also used the poem to say goodbye to his family, friends and love ones.

       Rizal’s description of his fatherland, he used biblical Eden to describe the pre-hispanic Philippines which is purity and innocence. He glad to give his life to our country even though his life was brighter fusher and blest.

Rizal said that their dedication and patriotism to the country is without second thought.

The first and second stanza speaks of Rizal’s love of liberty. It signifies the liberation that he adores and it lacks his blood for the country’s freedom.

        Rizal did not say that he wants monuments, street, school in his name. Only just a found kiss and warm breath so that he could feel the success of his sacrifices and love to our Filipino nation.
